    What would be a fair price for a 7 yr/ 125K
platinum ext warranty go for on a 18 Tacoma?

And before I get bashed saying Ext Warrantys are for fools...(who am I to say)…

I have always gotten EW's on new autos & certain items. My Auto ones have always paid for themselves. For example on my 08 I have the 7yr/125K; I had both CV boots/ axels replaced, master cylinder replaced-small seep. Windshield wiper & radiator plastic resivores replaced, cracked. Other small things as well. I was picky as hell though...

I would stick with a Toyota Platinum Warranty and not a 3rd Party warranty even if the price is higher.

If I remember correctly I paid $1,400. I think some have gotten it for around $900.

Can the toyota extended warranty be cancelled after buying it if you change your mind?

I believe it can be canceled and prorated at any point. Or at the very listen when you trade in or sell the vehicle

the discount days on the internet are over. i would ask your dealer for his best price should be able to beat him down some. try dealing with the sales manager not a floor salesman.

A lot of the time how people got "great" deals on warranty prices is because in reality they had more wiggle room on the car's price or on how much they could have got for their trade in. Can't really judge who got a "great" deal based on what they "say" they paid.

Purchasing at the same time as truck? They will start really high with that warranty, just keep saying no until it’s around $1,000.
I got one with mine because they dropped my apr. if i did. then i cancelled, got the money back and the lower apr. winning!

Lifetime bumper to bumper in addition to the dealer lifetime powertrain. Pic is the dealer powertrain coverage. I purchased the wrap in addition to cover “everything “ else

so in other words a 3rd party warranty.

    1. no where does it say its a Toyota financial warranty
    2. Toyota finanacial doesn't even market a warranty called "real lifetime"
    3. "certified repair facility" means this 3rd party warranty is only valid if that repair facility is willing to accept this 3rd party company

7/125 should run on avg. around 1150

    a 8/125 is around 1350 on a tier 3 vehicle.

On my wife’s 2018 highlander. The dealer started off with $2,800. I told them I didn’t want it about 6 times and he said he could do $700. Their cost was $600 and that’s the lowest he could do it for.

    I still didn’t get it.

They tried to pull that bullshit with me too. You don’t have to buy the warranty for them to lower the apr. it’s a sales tactic. Told them I didn’t need their financing I would go somewhere else for financing. The guy changed his tune quick.

    1. Agreed. Not a true Toyota financial warranty; this is a Toyota dealer sponsored warranty
    2. Same as above.
    3. I called around after purchasing the Taco. I detailed my included (free) lifetime mechanical ( from dealer) and lifetime bumper to bumper ( purchased-also dealer sponsored) and all but one place said they would accept it, including other local Toyota dealerships. They just bill my original dealer.

My 18 is one month old and already having failures. Taking it in tomorrow for 2 days to have the canister assembly replaced. It's not instilling the confidence that I had in my 2nd gen which was rock solid. I'll definitely be getting the extended warranty. OP, PM me and I'll give you the info I'm using to get an decent price on an actual Toyota warranty.
