Thinking of getting the extended warranty on my 2013 Sport. Wondering if its a good idea. Did the search and could not find any info, I'm sure its been discussed before. Sorry for the repeat post. Thanks, Joe

Once you start modding things the warranty will start covering less and less.

I say it's a good idea to get one.

I know guys that have had thousands of dollars worth of work covered. You just need to find the right dealer and be smart about it.

My list that could of been covered if I had bought extended:
    Engine
    Tie rods
    Wheel bearings
    LCA bushings
    LCA ball joints
    HVAC Blower
    Heater control LED's
    Starter
    Pulleys
    Front Diff plug

You have to decide if it's worth it to you, just like any other kind of insurance. I've had them pay for themselves many times over on other vehicles, and not needed them on others.

If you do get one, check out these threads for discounted prices. I plan on getting one since I think they're worth it at this cost. I would not get one at the $1800 my dealer tried to sell one to me for.

You can buy the Toyota Platinum from any dealer. I paid $890 for the 7yr 100K mile warranty. For this price, I figured if I used it once it would pay for itself.

What a difference in price for the extended warranty.
I just bought a 2013 dbc and was offered the warranty for $1750.00 I declinded it even though I had it on my '07 FJ Cruiser.
I used it once with 99k miles on the odometer for a front wheel bearing. The cost would only have been $317.00 for the repair.
I also have GEICO insurance and was surprised to find out since its a new truck they include in coverage a 100k mile repair warranty coverage.
Check your insurance see if its also included.
