I don't think you will find a 4yr/75K ext. warr for $700. The price goes up the longer you have the vehicle.

My grandmother would surely pay more for life insurance than I would...same concept.

I have a call into Troy right now, have 28k on the truck, will let you know what he says on the price going up because I never heard of that & want to know what the real deal is.

As long as its a good warranty provider and you plan on keeping your truck for a long time, then you should get one.

I'm a Loan Officer in the car business and got a good deal through one of my dealers...I actually got a "Platinum" 5 year 100k extended warranty through Toyota (JMNA) for $650. Truthfully this is rare as the finance manager thought he gave it to me AT cost...instead it came out BEHIND cost. True cost was about $800...but its tuff to get the dealership to give away a warranty at that price.

If you found a 4 year 75k for $700 through a good company...I'd go for it

When I contacted my Dealer to see if he would match Troy's at Greenfield Toyota, he said that $855 for 6yr/100K, 0 deduct. was "almost cost"...but then agreed. The only problem was, he wanted to to add tax...so I went with Troy.

I puchased the extended 7yr 100mi warranty. It looks like I got raped though. I paid 1600.00 for mine and I also prepaid all oil changes and routine scheduled maintenance for another 900.00. They just threw it in the financing so I said screw it. I also plan to have this truck a long time (just bought it 2 months ago) so I figured the extended was worth it.

You can cancel the 7/100 warranty and buy it from Troy Dietrich for $945 and no sales tax.
About $600 in your pocket after warranty paperwork costs. Not bad for a couple of phone calls.:)

I sent my truck info (2006 Tacoma 4WD & 28k) and was quoted $700 for a 7/75k or $945 7/100k, zero deductible Toyota Platinum Ext Warranty from Troy @ Greenfield Toyota.

Also you can the Toyota Rewards Visa Card @ 0% for the first six months & use it for this purchase.

You do have to send him some documents so if you are close to your 3/36 start the process sooner than later.

The good news is the price, the only mileage that matters is that you are not over 3/36!! :woot:

New to this forum and have read everyone's comments about the warranties. Thank you.

Spoke with Troy Dietrich, $945 for the Platinum agreement. Local dealer was in the $2300 range.

Spoke with Toyota Customer Service and they were straight up about coverage. Seems the platinum is cheap insurance and I do all my own work. With the new technology in this truck - my days of wrench cranking may be over. OBDII has made the traditional methods obsolete. I guess the question at this point is getting the Factory Service Manuals after the 100K. Looks to be about $540.

    Comments.
