I just signed paperwork on a 2017 TRD off road. I said no to the extended warranty so they dropped it a bit. I said no again and they came back with $1,100 for the extended platinum warranty. Is that a good deal or should i research some more?

It's a work in progress. See my build thread.
I got it. I'll let you know how it is working out in 60 or 70 thousand miles.

You don't need to buy it now. You can buy them anytime before your standard warranty is up.

Plus, if you have a major component failure, there is a strong chance Toyota will give you one complimentary out of good will and to keep you as a customer.

If you are reaching the end of your warranty period you can go into any dealer and get the extended if it makes you feel better.

I say no deal at buying one at signing.

That crap they offer is pure shit. Wait until the end of the warranty life of your truck and then consider it. Plenty of other options that have significantly better pricing. That warranty crap they sell you there is money in their pocket.

...^^^... Make sure it is a ... "Genuine Toyota OEM Corporate Warranty" ... and NOT a dealer or regional distributor warranty or other BS warranty.

I told them no two weeks ago when I purchased my new Tacoma and I told them no in 2007. That "old" Tacoma ran for 137,000 miles and needed tires, oil, brakes, and a battery and whoever buys it will get a great rig that's good for another 150,000. My 2003 was the same and I expect it from this 3rd Gen.

There's a reason I buy from Toyota. (I know the naysayers will start drooling over this opportunity.)

I was on the fence about the extended warranty but not after the finance guy told me you do not get it back anymore if you don't use it unless your trading in. That's the only reason in the past I purchased it because you got your money back.
