My truck just kit 20k miles, and it’s under warranty until 50k miles by the manufacturer.

Does anyone know or has anyone bought extended warranty (100k/7yr) before the 50k miles are up? I am driving it a lot more than planned, and by my 2.5 year mark it’ll more than likely be at 50k miles already so I may decide to invest in the extended warranty if that’s doable.
    Any insight is appreciated!

you cant as you passed the threshold for a Toyota oem ext warranty.

you have to buy it before 3yrs or 36k miles.

never mind I missed the 20k mileage part.

Your factory warranty is 3 years or 36k miles, you can purchase an extended warranty in that time frame

Good to know I have time to do it. Any idea what it runs for? I may start asking around the local dealers in my area, I assume it’s just like selling/buying cars and I can find a better deal somewhere.

also if it has a 50k warranty, that is NOT a Toyota warranty. Toyota only has a factory 3/36 warranty. anything past that is either a 3rd party warranty or you have to buy a Toyota oem ext warranty that is serviced by Toyota financial.

No I bought it brand new last year in June.
They never offered it to me or gave me a ball park idea of what it runs for.

It is 3/36 bumper to bumper if you bought new.

Interesting. My papers from the Toyota dealer specify I have warranty until 50k miles/years.

So the dealership here in CA quoted me 6yr 100k for $2500. They SOLD me a 3rd party warranty which they refunded. They had told me it was a Toyota warranty which obviously we both consider different things. I'm only stationed in CA for so I called back home to Wisconsin and the dealership there gave me these quotes.

    5yr 100k - $1110
    6yr 100k - $1250
    8yr 125k - $1965

Obviously it changes everywhere you go and they can change their price on it. I'm still going to do some shopping around since I only have around 2k miles right now.

call around and look for the ext warranty thread that has a few dozen pages to it. you can find pricing that max out around $1500 for 8/125k.

some get them really cheap but the avg pricing is around 1100-1300 pricing for the top numbers.

that's standard factory warranty for the drive train. that's pretty much standard across all manufacturer's, not just toyota
