Extending factory shackles?

    icon stage 10 kit, toytec 1" bl, 35" general x3s, 17x9.5 procomp wheels, locker anytime mod, s&b intake, blackhawk 2.1 tune,
    Anybody see anything wrong with cutting and adding 2" to the length of factory shackles? (should get 1" or so of lift)

    Why not just buy some? You'd be asking for trouble cutting and adding to the factory shackle.

    I agree with snowman. The shackles are a really important part of the trucks suspension system. You'd be better off buying aftermarket ones or making them out of a solid piece of metal. Welds are always the weak point, if not the weld directly the area around the weld from heat stress.
