Ya, also helps to have the white one... pre-heating the inside, etc...

    In my opinion..
If you aren't impressed by the yeti you aren't going to be impressed by any other cooler...

There are now a ton of good options for high end coolers that are probably just as good as the yeti however I feel like they are all on about the same level.

I do wish I would have just got the ARB fridge since the yeti just sits in the back of the truck anyways...

Yeah if you plan on having it in the truck all the time anyway those fridges are the way to go.
Otherwise I take mine everywhere a fridge wouldn't be able to go.

RTIC cooler arrived today...initial impression is that it is well built...and almost identical to a yeti

    20151023_141632.jpg 20151023_142104.jpg 20151023_142153.jpg 20151023_142301.jpg 20151023_142311.jpg

There are of course some subtle design differences but looking at it...I suspect that Yeti accessories will work with no issue

I've wiped down the inside and threw some ice in there to cool it down...gonna throw a case of water and some sandwiches in there for work this weekend and see how it does even though it's no longer really warm here

LOL because your not supposed to put it in the sun... can't do anything for you if you don't follow their clear directions on use.

i used a yeti 65qt on a 3 month road trip, would pre cool it before loading with food, would also use dry ice to ensure it would last longer...

just buy a fridge, after buying ice in BFE where its almost 5 bucks per bag a few times, it ends up costing more than a decent 12volt fridge.

I love the sportsman. As good as the yeti and comes with enough money to buy beers! This is another good buy...

wasnt sure if those were open to order past the preorder stage, its also a 3 month ship leadtime as of now. think id rather just get what i can as a gift and not have to worry about something happening with them discontinuing or something else.

exactly what i would be afraid of (with ship dates that far out)

ill be going with the sportsman, 55qt should be plenty big i think..ha. either way itll beat the cheap patio style coolers i used on the last trip and had to buy ice every single stop.
