Completely agree. The XTreme works good for the price. ( I have 2 Yeti coolers but use the XTreme for throwing salmon in on the boat)

May just end up getting one of these... good reviews and good price point.

After moving them in and out of the house ( it's been cold at nite) I just dumped them today.... The old one had 1/4 of the ice left. The new one had 2/3 ice left. I had em in the house and out in the sun, I only opened them once a day. Very happy for 200 bucks. Gotta test em both in the summer heat though..

How are you figuring how much ice remained?

    Guesstimation? By weight?

Just going by eye.... If it was warmer I would have put more effort into it. But the second I started the test the weather around here pretty much decided to take a dump and got cold...

I've had my Pelican 45 for almost a month now, stays in the truck all the time unless it goes on the boat. I was skeptical of spending that much on a cooler, but I gotta say that restocking ice/ice packs every week and always having beverages that are colder than the fridge is pretty awesome. I've been freezing big tupperware blocks of ice and using that as a base and then filling in with a handfull of frozen water bottles, and one or two frozen half gallon milk jugs and that works great for me, lot easier than ice cubes and I've had similar results.

Very pleased with it. Oh, and to counter the weight I stole the idea for some wheels from the guy who did the grizzly review, and spent $13 on materials and ended up with a nice little way to wheel my cooler around!

Maybe it's been mentioned earlier in the thread but RTIC looks like a good alternative to Yeti and the other top end rotomolded coolers. Manufacturer direct to consumer sale and around half the price.

Do any of you guys have a RTIC cooler? Would you recommend it? Would you buy again? I've been thinking of ordering one or two.

RTIC seems to get good reviews and plenty of guys on here have them. The only problem with them seems to be the wait time.

Picked up a copy of Four Wheeler magazine at the airport last week and they had a nice little comparo on the ones below:

Canyon Coolers, Orca, Pelican, Grizzly, Yeti and Esky all in as close to 40 qt as they offered.

Like how everything else compares to the Yeti's ... easily keeps ice for 7 days in CO first week of Sept & 3-4 days in Outer Banks in August...

Might have to replace rubber latches in 12 years but will no doubt hand em down to the kids for their excursions...

For those following along and/or watching and planning on purchases.
The RTIC 45's are still an end of May ship. I've contacted customer service in regards to availability.

The Vibe Element 45's and 65's in Desert won't be back in stock until June.

So unless you want white, the choices are getting more limited.

I may just have to settle on something else if I want it before my event on 30 Apr.
Shame, as I'd prefer the RTIC pricewise. Not sure about the Coleman Sportsman as a choice but that's about the only one available in the next 2 weeks. :annoyed:
