I purchased my truck almost 2 years ago. When I purchased my truck it had a small amount of dust/dirt behind the gauge cluster. I recently had enough time to take this apart and pull the dust out. Everything is back together and working great, except the gas gauge. For some reason when I open the drivers side door after the truck has been off this triggers the gas gauge to reverse itself back behind on the E mark and all the way up to the top where it touches the coolant needle. I then have to manually pull the gauge down and place it to where I estimate how much gas was left. I have checked the wiring connecting on the back of the cluster, it looks perfect! I have reset the battery without any success.

Any good pointers would be a huge help!
