I came upon a “1st Gen Tacoma owners” on Facebook. So I figured what the hell and joined.
Soon found out 90% of the owners were 18-24 yrs old. Absolutely fine. I was young once. HERE is my people.
I have experienced so much advice and help from you folks. Thank you and when I can offer my advice will do.

As a 21 year old, I had know idea I was the average demographic (at least for the Facebook group).
The spread of ages might be a bit different here on TW, because of the amount of oldheads and parents I see in threads.

Old heads. lol! You couldn’t fix it with a button on an iPhone back in the day. Wasn’t any YouTube vid for guidance. You had to know a guy or go read it in a book or magazine article if you could find it. Not a complaint, just a fact. A fella that is willing to get after it has a lot more resources for info these days and I encourage you to do so.

We see the youngsters swing through here as well, but the obnoxious ones don't last long. Usually start up a few new threads proposing wild and brazen mods (engine swaps, SAS, etc...) and refuse to listen to the collective 20+ years of knowledge and history as to why they shouldn't do whatever it is they think they can do with no tools, budget, knowledge, or experience. :notsure:

My first car was a used 1969 Volkswagen Beetle. I was 18 years old and didn't even know how to change a tire, much less change my points or swap out a distributor. My dad handed me this book and told me to "read up." There was a wealth of knowledge in there.

The more mistakes you make, the more you learn.

will say, a VW bug is the ultimate car to learn on.

That was my dad's idea. And he steered me toward a not-exactly-mechanically-sound bug that he knew would break down on me. I spent so many summer days wrenching away on cars while all my friends were hanging out at the beach.

My first was a 72 Chevy C10 with 3 on the column, power nothing and a clutch made for a man’s leg. Mine shook if I had to hold it in for long.

I had a 1958 Beetle with a rear oval window and headliner falling down. Ahh to be 20 again.

I'm the original owner of my 2000 PreRunner. It now has over 400K miles and my grandkids think it's cool.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
I would have been stoked to have a 1st gen when I was 15, I mean I'm still stoked now but I couldn't imagine it growing up.
