Back when we lived at home with mom and dad my brother had an Australian Shepherd, one Saturday around supper time he came up with a huge uncooked ribeye in his mouth. He had snatched it off the side of someones grill I guess. My parents house is a 1/4 mile from the nearest house. :D

Draco has snatched several drumsticks, a pair of sirloin steaks, half a birthday cake, an entire weeks worth of chicken rice and greenbeans, and a box of wheat thins.

You'd think my housemate would learn not to leave food on the counter by now, but here we are...

Years ago, we had a dog that would engage in acts of subterfuge when he knew food was around.

One evening, I had a 12” steak and cheese sub delivered to the house. The place that made it was locally famous, because their subs were really awesome. This thing was like $15.

Anyway, I put it on a plate and set it down on a table next to my recliner. The plan was to enjoy the sammich and watch a movie.

I walked down the hall to the kitchen to get a drink, and passed the family dog in the hallway. I thought nothing of it.
I got my drink and once again, passed the family dog in the hallway, but this time he had slobber hanging out of his mouth and he was moving along at a pretty good clip.

Yep. Sammich was gone. He housed that thing in like 10 seconds flat.
