My father's truck just died on him. He went to lower the tailgate lift to load something in the bed then BOOM, it just died. Truck haven't wanted to start again ever since. All electronics, accessories and the tailgate lift work as normal, but when we turn the key to start it, nothing happens.

It is definitely an electrical problem as we don't get power to the starter solenoid. How and why is what we are trying to understand. Checked and tested all the fuses and relays and they are all good. Starter and solenoid are good.

Thing is that the battery in that truck was bad and he had to jumpstart it everytime to fire it up. Been telling him for a long time to put a fresh battery in there but he didn't listen and here we are.... Borrowed my truck's battery but still the same thing. Nothing happens.
But then, in the back of my mind, something makes me think it is the built-in antitheft that is preventing the truck from starting... makes sense as it is like everything related to ignition is shut off to prevent the truck from starting. Except the fuel pump (it activates when we try to start)

Or maybe he just fried something, who knows...

But first, can someone out there that can give me the wiring diagram for a 2007 F150 4.6l? That would be greatly appreciated

I've done some more testing today and the issue is definitely in the fusebox. Power gets in but does not get out to the starter. Tried bypassing it to start the truck and it fired up right away.

Might be the GEM board... Will take it out to investigate...

Maybe a fusible link in the ignition circuit fried when you went to use the tailgate?

Do you still need help with this?
Dont wont to bother looking over the wiring diagram if you already fixed it.
Do you have a second key you can try to start the vehicle with?
How good with electrical diag are you?
With the key on have you tried to jump the starter fuse pins 30 to 87 in the fusebox thats behind the right front kick panel?

One of my neighbors owns a OBD I F150 that he's done a lot to make it look nice, take care of leaks, etc, but it hasn't run very well since he's owned it. He took it into one independent shop that specialized in Fords, and all they did was replace the computer. It ran a little better, but still wasn't right. Well, it broke down again.

He has a "Volvo guy" that takes care of his wife's car, and he asked if he knew any similar "Ford guys" who could finally fix his truck. The "Volvo guy" recommended a guy, and after a couple weeks, the "Ford guy" had his F150 running like it was new. That required replacing a bunch of sensors, etc. This guy could ID issues, and fix them. Not cheap, but provided incredible value for the dollar!

Moral of the story, keep looking for "that guy." Just because someone specializes in a particular brand of vehicle, they may not be a magician. Keep a lookout for "that guy" in your area. He (or she) should be able to diagnose and fix those issues that may elude you and your "regular guy."

Took out the fusebox, bench tested it and everything was good

Put everything back in and the truck fired up just fine. I guess it was a loose or a dirty connector somewhere on the fuse box wiring harness
