    To each his own.
I always park where I wont get door dings. For example, WAY out in the back of the lot. I also take into factor the grade of the lot. I seen too many "run away" buggies smash into cars. People just don't give a damn about other folks property. Call me ANAL.

On a side note most people don't care about their own shit. I laugh @ the people that park their $40K car in the driveway and have a lawn mower, a x-mas tree, and 28 boxes of junk in the garage. Then here comes the hail storm.

    Stupid is, stupid does.

I am the same way! Park way away from others, take into consideration the grade in case of run away carts and try and not park where anyone would be tempted to park beside me. Had someone open there damned door on my first tacoma. You are right, some folks don't care about there's not to mention yours. Makes you wanna never leave your yard.

Well said! See, some of the less mature members here live for their Tacomas. Pretty sad existance, but at least they have something to talk about ;)

So...what? You want us to be non-sarcastic and reassure you that you made the right buying decision after you owned, sold, bought F150, traded, and bought Taco again?

How the hell would we know?

If your only preference for the larger truck was because of greater interior room and you don't like the Tacoma's smaller interior, how were you surprised? You'd owned one before and I ASSUME you test drove the second one.

What exactly is it that you expect us not to be sarcastic about? The fact that you make financially unwise vehicle ownership decisions?

I sincerely hope this is a troll, because if it isn't it's just sad.

Well with all the recall "junk" I know that little of us Tacoma owners have really been affected. And you have a truck that will hold it's value and last longer. Although Ford's reputation on reliability has gotten better. But I think you made the right decision

OP I can feel for you. I got rid of my 06 Tacoma for a Silverado. I love the extra room I have, the *more* functional bed, all the creature comforts, but it's no Toyota. It's no fun paying for something you don't really like or expect.

The Silvy is ridiculously big and difficult to park - but the rear camera and sonar sensors help. I average about 19mpg on the highway, which is a tinge less than the Tacoma (21-22 hwy), but I have a 6.0 engine with ~375 hp.

I miss the solid feel of the Tacoma for sure, but it was too small for my needs. I suggest really sitting down and contemplating the consequences of your actions with regards to multiple trades - you'll pay out the nose. It took a long time for me to decide what I needed to do, and I still have some remorse.

Good Luck - and don't worry about the youngsters on here that are calling you a troll. Sometimes logic to the insane is illogical.

Thanks. I beat myself in the head every day thinking about pissing away $4000 in a month. I probably would have kept the F150 if it had had a rear view cam and back up sensors. I like the Tacoma and besides my 5 year old I guess I will never haul any adults in the back.

There is a reason why domestics are worth nothing after the warranty expires. Anybody who fixes his own $hit knows why. I would never buy used domestic even so they are cheap as dirt. Toyota I will feel not afraid to buy any milage or age. Again ones who hold the wrench in the hand and have to do more then oil change you will know why. So go ahead buy Ford and better yet buy Ford that is over 3 years old. :D

So, you don't want us to be sarcastic, but you go on a Tacoma forum and say that you hate your Tacoma? What did you expect? I say go buy another f150. If you like it so much why did you get rid of it? Since you already had a Tacoma you should have known what you are getting. What about driving the Tacoma into a brick wall and collect the insurance money. Or do you just have liability coverage?

lol, you traded in your truck because it didn't have rear view camera and back up sensors. Thats awesome. Did you sell your house cause it didn't have hard wood floors?

you should have bought a Tundra.

You can't compare the Tacoma to an F-150 they are different class trucks. Of course it has more room and a bigger engine..it is a bigger truck. You should have looked into the Rangers.

But you should have researched more before spending 30k, unless you have that time of money to throw around.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do in the end.

Personally, I would never give up my yota for an f150. I bought my truck to wheel and it will destroy the ford on the trail. Plus the reliability of our trucks are unmatched. But that is just me. Sounds to me like you should go back to the ford...

I agree!! There too many assholes on this site. Thats why I only surf and post if I have something I can add to help out. I was in the same situation as you, sort of. I was almost going to buy the F150, its a great truck, but when I evaluated the cost of the F150 in 4 years vs the Tacoma there was no comparison. In honesty you cannot compare the 2 as they are 2 different trucks. The F150 needs to be compared to the Tundra. I love my Tacoma, its fits in my garage, has better gas mileage and reliability history is great. IMO the tacoma is a lot more fun to drive then a F150. Hope you work this out.

You seem to have an extremely short attention span, in as much as you basically answered all of your questions before you asked them at the end.

Not sure what you are looking for. There will be an obvious (to most) trade off depending on what your needs are adn you are looking for, but you pretty much listed them in your initial post before ending with a question you seem to have already answered for yourself.

    Are you sober?

Simple reason of value drop is that nobody wants Ford once it is out of warranty. Most of the people trade their Fords in the first 3 years of owning, flooding market with trucks that have no many buyers.

EDIT: Looking at the autotrader there are twice as many F150 for sale then Tacomas in 25 miles radius Cheapest Ford in range 2005-2011 is a half price to what cheapest Tacoma is.

You could have saved yourself a few bucks and just installed a camera and sensors in the F-150. I'm sure that project would have come in well under $4k.

Oh it makes sense now, the Army avatar...yeah math is hard. ;)
