I traded my 2008 Chevy avalanche LTZ for my Tacoma DC just recently. All i can say is MAN i wish i would have bought this before the Chevy. I LOVE MY TACOMA!!! The more i drive it the more i like it. The avalanche was a nice truck dont get me wrong, had every option on the planet. But for what i want and need in a truck, you cant beat the Toyota!! I am so glad i bought this truck!!!:)

Funny how size perception works. I've always liked my small cars - had a Honda CRX, a Civic Si, and my trucks were a Mazda B2000 and an S-10.
So, one of my only dislikes about my Tacoma has always been, "It's too big!" When I first bought it, I could barely park it!
Now I am getting used to it.

Why did you buy a Super Crew Cab if it's only your 5 year old? Perhaps a better choice would have been an extended cab F-150 with a 6 foot bed. They're not much shorter than a DC Taco.

What do you mean, you lost $4000 in a MONTH? You didn't lose it over the course of a month, you lost it the day you made the deal.

So, if we tell you how much we like our trucks, that is going to change your mind about how you feel about YOUR truck?

^ I agree.. I see what you mean and were your comming from. And that sucks that you cant find a truck that fits your needs. But what are we suppose to do to help you? Tell you how much Ford sucks? We dont got that much time to spare.. But just give the Taco some more time with you, and see how you like it. They are really great trucks!

Hate to say this, but it sounds like you made a mistake getting a Tacoma given what you want in a vehicle. You liked the F-150 because of the interior room and let's be honest, there's no way that a Tacoma will give you that amount of room because it's a smaller truck. It's quite simple really. You have to figure out what your priorities are for the vehicle and go from there. If it's interior space and maximum power for towing, you need to look at a full size. If it's fuel economy and driveability, the Tacoma fits the bill.

Personally, when I test drove the new F-150's I thought the amount of interior space was ridiculous, in a bad way that is. That's actually one of the main reasons I went with a Tacoma as it was much closer in size to my old F-150 (a 97 Extra Cab Short Box). I honestly think ALL of the current model 1/2 tons are obese and would be a complete and utter PITA to drive on a daily basis. I wouldn't buy ANY of them unless it was primarily being used as a tow vehicle.

I won't say that the F-150 is a bad truck, because I don't think they are. In fact, I think Ford makes a great truck. It's just too freaking big for me. If you don't mind the size, buy one if it will make you happier.

i feel you're pain! i got rid of a 06 ram 2500 4x4 diesel for my taco. it is an awsome truck, but i'm on the road A LOT! 2hrs min one way. and lug around a lot of gear for work. so, i'm considering getting arother ram. prolly 1/2 ton this time. i don't tow shit ever, so i don't really need a diesel, but boy was it nice! and the mileage...don't even get me started. i looked at the tundra's before the taco (this is my third taco) but it was like rideing in a plastic box. too much money for that feeling. good luck whichever way you go!
