I'm not sure how there was any confusion here. I just got my 2010 lifted 3 weeks ago from 4WP and couldn't be happier.

I mean, did you do any research on ProComps website? They clearly say that this lift requires 18" wheels or bigger, otherwise it wont clear the knuckles.

The guys over at my local 4WP were very clear about this too.

However, I am assuming you are talking about the ProComp kit, b/c the Fabtech kit does allow for 17's...

i wanted 17s because the tires and wheels were cheaper and i did see some tacomas running 17 inch wheels on the procomp stage 1.

i brought this up to 4WPs prior the tire and wheel installation and they said it would fit. I also had them confirm with pro comp with a phone call and the sales rep from pro comp also said they should fit. LOL in this case...we were all wrong.

i'm not necessarily mad...just sad that i didn't get my truck back yet..in the end it all worked out for me...i originally ordered the 33 xtreme m/t and the 7031 series pro comp wheels because i got the buy 3 get 1 free special. it definitely wasn't my tire of choice...and since i had to go bigger with the 18s i got to order the tire that i wanted with the cost of a little more money. i also saw the 7031 series in person and didn't really like it...so i changed my wheel type too. i guess everything happens for a reason...hopefully it works out this time around haha

i honestly would go with the fabtech if you are gonna go with a 6". i went with the procomp because i got that $500 dollar rebate in december...and the 500 went to installation fees. you have an 08 with VSC so u will probably have to upgrade to 18s if you go with the procomp, try asking the 07 and up owners about how they run 17s without any issues.

Shame on the individuals you talked to. I researched the be-jesus out of my kit b/c I thought about doing the install myself. I called ProComp several times and I talked to the local 4WP several times. Not once did I get any mis-information from anybody.

Must have been the guys you talked to. Not sure if your local shop does a lot of this specific kit installs, but I was the 80th Tacoma lifted from my guy.

Hit and miss I guess. Glad you got it sorted out man. Its a great kit (but I want to remove the AAL personally).

I have an 07 with 17" wheels (4.5 backspace) on a Fabtech 6" lift. No problems at all here.

I love my FABTECH lift. I wish I could have 15" rims but 17"s will have to do.

    9" of Super Bro lift

Yeah...it friggin' sucks. I've been studying lifts, wheels & tires for months now and it bites that I have to run a 17" or 18" wheel when I get the lift. There has to be another option to clear the kits.....wheel spacers? Damn...I want to keep my 16" Ivans!
