These are pics from my recent Elvis run. This trail is rated 3.5 to 4.5 depending on line. I was aired down to 15 psi on Toyo ATIIs and no locker.

That was the only obstacle we bypassed because of time restraints on my part. That group was ahead of us and taking their time through each obstacle. If we had another hour we think we could've made it through it. Pretty intimidating to see those kinds of vehicles on this trail and here we were with 4 Tacomas.

Not a huge fan of big rims on these trucks.

 

Me neither.....I'd love to go 15" if it were possible. Putting on 16's was hard enough.

 

15 would be badass 35's for really cheap + more rubber for wheeling/sidewall.

 

I hit some old logging roads this morning on the way home from work. Real fun after 2 days of rain......but the wife is going to be pissed about orange mud all over our driveway.

 

I MISS 15's.....!!!!!

Had 15's with 33's on my JEEP

When I was told 17" is smallest I can go I was pissed.

I need to do the following before I get this trailer:

1. Remove blocks
2. New spring pack
3. New shocks
4. Trailer brake kit
5. WDH

And you can go smaller than 17" on the Taco....I did.

 

Look at the billy 7100 that is what i am running.

 

I was told with the brakes (I can't remember) anything smaller than a 17" will rub.

 

Funny ........depending on where you live is how people alter a 4x4 to handle the local terrain. Rock crawling & desert riding does not exist here. So you rarely see built prerunners or 4x4's with nice coilovers but shorter lifts (low COG). Everything here is for mud bogging which has deep ruts in the ground & huge lifts for the largest tire is needed.

 

Actually the issue is the tie rods. On DB kits, they are flipped over & will contact smaller rims on the wheel lip. So to run 16's, I had to get backspacing just right & add 1.25" spacers. Running 15's is when there are brake caliper clearance issues....dammit!

 

Speaking of mud bogs.....eventually I will change gears, add front/rear glass fenders, real leaf packs/coilovers & 37's. Gotta pay off this bitch first.
