Fabtech requires you to remove the entire crossmember....Pro comp/BDS/Rough Country have you cut a much smaller section for the drive shaft to move lower because the diff being dropped. Hence no need to cut Xmember for prerunners!

Check out the attached pictures - its how we re-built my cross member. That is how much Fabtech has you cut out!!

In case any one ever searches this is what you'll need to go back from a DB:

    Stock Spindles
LBJ Brackets + 19mm Bolts x4 ( IF your truck has a Fabtech kit)
    Front Diff Mounts & Bolts X 2
    Rear Diff Mount
Materials to build Cross-member or weld in stock

    I don't think I'm missing anything else.

Yea, I thought we spoke about this. I've been putting together a cache of stuff. Not sure what I'm going to do yet, but I like options.

Right now its a cache of parts that I'm building up. I'm not sure if I'll ever go back to stock or even a 3" MT set up, I just like the options.
I got some stock uppers and coils and a few other goodies coming to me this weekend from a local guy. Going to hunt down some lowers and a stock leaf pack. This stuff comes up for grabs often in Phx.

If I ever did go back I know my current set up would sell quickly.

Just ordered my bds lift now it's time for some wheels and tires ! Thinking about doing the method standards and toyo mts. Anyone know where I can get a good price on those? I also need a Nfab nerf bar! Thanks!

Tires direct.net and tirecrawler.com have the best prices on tires and free shipping. You can also take that price to discount tire and use their price match policy.

In other news I took the design idea for my skids by Avid off road.

Jon, just curious what did you decide to do to clear that little bit of front diff that hangs below DB ? small bend in the whole skid to clear it ? Just a small bump out over that bit ? Raise the diff back up 1/4" ?

Discount Tire does have Method and Toyo and as Jon mentioned will price match. Don't forget to think about service after the sale too, when you have big tires you have to rotate the every 2500-5000 miles max usually so Discount Tires free rotate and balance is a really good deal IMO.

On a side note I would highly caution you to look at something besides an MT unless you really really need an MT. An AT such as the new Toyo RT still looks great and you will get better MPG and a quiter ride etc.

I looked at that from all angles and my diff doesn't drop below the DB at all, but its close.

Really wow, looks like we discovered yet another difference between generations of the PC kits. It looks super close but if I grab a straight edge like a good aluminum yard stick and hold it across the DB's the diff does hit the yard stick. I was warned to make sure there was some space between the skid and the diff so that if you ever impacted the skid hard enough to dent it in that exact spot it would transfer the impact into the diff.

If that did hang below, I would've tagged it by now and I've hit that DB a few times. I'll do like you said and be absolutely sure but I know I questioned that when we were looking at it.

The fab shop will be making this skid in the next week or so. They may make a few extra as set up pieces. If anyone is interested, I may be able to get 1 or 2 extras....

I'll post the finished product when I get mine from the shop.

Did you go over the compression struts or remove them?

Going over them. Removal doesn't really get me much. The DB is still the lowest part. Removal would allow the truck to drop onto the skid by itself if I slid over an obstacle. Not a fan of that scenario.

I've slid over those struts and they are getting beat up on mine. You would gain a few inches behind the tires if they were gone a 3/16th steel can take the hit
