Get an action shot at Bed Bath & Beyond and ask @chris4x4 to make it the banner for this thread.
Its the epitome of what a functional DB should be.

Hey guys haven't been on in awhile but I have an issue. Got hit/sideswiped in the front passenger side. The driver never stopped so I didn't get any insurance info.... So after trying to get truck aligned for a solid 2 days and being told nothing seemed bent by multiple techs I finally got the verdict that the passenger spindle is bent. They can't get the toe to come in enough to drive straight with the spindle bent.

So I then proceed to call to get 1 passenger spindle and I'm asked when I got the lift put on my truck cuz if it was after mid 08 they switched the spindle due to VCA or something. And I don't know when my truck got lifted. I bought it in 11. Apparently the after 09 spindles will not work with the before 09 spindles and the guy claims you can't tell the difference. Just don't know what to do cuz I don't want to pay for 2 spindles and honestly don't want to put on 2 brand new spindles when the the driver side one is perfectly fine.

    Any advice would be great!!!

Call the manufacturer of your DB lift perhaps?

It's a procomp but I didn't order the lift so would they have the lift matched with my vin or something?

No but based on the year of your taco they should be able to match the lift and tell you if the spindles changed.

Well they def did switch in mid 08. They have to special order the old ones, while they can get the new ones overnight.

yea I can do a straight swap, but if I have the old ones and I order the new one apparently it won't work together. But if I have the new one I can't pair that with the old spindle. And apparently there is no way to tell what spindle you have on your truck. Just don't want to have to pay for 2 spindles when only 1 is bent.

Well I'll be selling the truck this summer so I just need to get the truck driving straight again. This has been a nightmare and honestly don't even think my insurance would cover something like this.

I can't believe the spindle bent and not the tie rod, steering rack or LCA. The knuckle is pretty beefy. I would call pro comp and ask tech support.

Well every tech was telling me that my tie rod threads were not long enough to align the truck and I'm telling him the main reason people go with drop bracket lifts are because they keep similar factory alignment specs. Im not 100% sure it's the spindle. I think that's the only cause of pulling that tie rod end far enough out that they don't have enough thread to bring it back into alignment specs

Tie rods are trimmed for DB lifts to get them in spec.

Cuz if I had $1500 king coilovers I doubt your insurance coverage would cover that. We are paying insurance on our Tacoma. Stock or having 10,000 dollars invested. They are not going to cover those high end parts. And they will claim it takes so much more time to deal with lifted trucks.
