A few audio upgrades, tinted windows, remote start because it f'n hot in Texas! 6in Fabtech DB lift, 17x9 Fuel Trophy wheels, 315/70/17 Duratracs,BAMF 80in sliders w/kickout, Prinsu cab rack w/30in Heretic light bar, custom bedside decals, custom hi-lift jack brackets, US Offroad front bumper w/winch, bed rack with RTT, CB, Short wave base station, Ultra gauge, color matched grille surround, an ungodly amount of recover gear, ARB fridge, hood struts, RotoPax, traction pads.
If you are down shifting now the increase in tire size and weight will only enhance your current issue.

Mine was terrible when I first put 35s on flat ground with a slight breeze at 65 with the cruise set would down shift constantly. I ended up putting 4.88 nitro gears in and I love it. Went with 4.88s because the grades and stuff I drive up everyday where I live.

    Okay, full disclosure here.

All my input is based off of personal driving preference. I do not use cruise control at all. I am 10x more efficient then it can be. If cruise control is used on my truck, the tranny will hunt. I do not worry about keeping speed going up an overpass at 75 mph speed limit. I will hold the rpms where they need to be to keep from dropping out of overdrive. I usually find myself down to about 71mph around my area. (Remember, I live in the flat part of Texas). I am able to achieve 13.8 mpg with my current configuration. If I wanted to drive the truck with cruise control without worrying about jumping around trying to find the right gear all the time, I would upgrade to 4.56's.

My method works for me, my truck and my location. You will need to find the best combination for you, your truck and your location.

I appreciate all the help and info!! Going to hold out and save up for the bds with fox setup and get 700lb springs cause I'm going to throw on a bunper all at the same time. Going to run 17s also as I'm not a fan of 18s or even 20s

So now that you've got the front, what about the rear?

Good call. Buy once, cry once! Im.running 17's also but would even consider a 16 or 15 for the extra rubber but on the Fabtech lift a 17 is the minimum.

Hill country? Where you at? I used to live in central Texas before I moved to Utah 10 years ago...

I miss some Fredricksburg hill country even though the mountains here in Utah are awesome.

I know a guy who is running a 6" BDS with the fox setup and hes running OME with the xtra aal and i believe a 1.5" block which im not a fan of blocks and i know alot of guys on here arent either but im probably going to run the same setup then eventually down the road do a shackle flip and 12" or 14" smoothies with a shock reloacation or get some deaver or alcans that have 6" of lift. But ive rode in the truck that has the setup like i just talked about and it was crazy smooth riding!!
Is there any way at all to run 16s? Cause not even 2 months ago i bought fuel anzas in 16" for my truck cause i already had my 33s and didnt want to get new tires and wheels since the tires only have 10k miles

My setup with a leaf pack of close to 3" lift, 5" shackles, shackle flip & 12s is probably 5" of flexy goodness in the rear. I wish I had done this when I was a DB lift in my last build.
Combine that with the Fox shocks (minimal preload) uppers and some 34 -35" tires, that would be a well built DB. It would ride nice and perform offroad. You wouldn't need to drop the carrier bearing much at all.

BDS is probably going to require 17s or 18s. So perhaps pick up some OEM 17s like my Sequoias and run one of the following tires

    285x75r17
    295x70r17
    35x1250r17

Cab mount chop will probably be needed and some probably 1" of fenders if you go 35s

I can help you get 12" Kings. Also look into @ARCHIVE for his shackle flip and relocate. By the time you are ready he may have a package deal for both. (Dont quote me on that) but hes a cool dude and maybe he will end up doing a GB.

Thats about the same setup i was thinking of getting. Definitely going to try and run 17s cause ive seen a few guys run them with the BDS.

That would be sweet on the kings and shackle flip maybe ill get ahold of you when im ready to do it!

Well I made the jump to 35s today. I put them on 20x9 bmf novakane wheels I like the way it turned out. Need to trim some plastic still but other than that no problems. I will be adding coil overs soon to be lifted 8".

Dude you need 37's or 38's! Too high in the rear for 14" wide Bro wheels! I love the stock pictures, especially with the same wheels. I'm gonna have to load some old pictures.
