I need shock and coil spring recommendations on my 2007 tacoma sport 4x4 it has a 6in Fabtech DB lift kit with the 6in spacer. I have a ARB bumper up front and NO winch and don’t plan on getting one. The only extra weight that would affect the front is the ARB bumper and sliders in the future. I can’t afford full length coil overs so that’s out of the question so what would you guys recommend for essentially stock height coils and springs to go with my 6in spacer up front and something that can support the bit of extra weight up front. I’m sagging quite a bit.

Kryptic you are going to want to ditch the spacers and stock struts and get RCD Bilstein 5100s which raise your perch height 4.5." From there pick a coil for the weight added to achieve the desired lift height. Most guys not on heavy coilovers are running 6" lifts run RCD 5100 with Eibach 620 coils (1.6" lift at a rate of 620lb each spring puts you at 6.1" lift). With the ARB and no winch, skids, etc this may be an ok setup for you. Maybe even running like a .5" top plate spacer to make up for the weight would help also. Take a look at some of the guys in here that have heavy duty setups though. Lot of info in this thread. Maybe someone can chime in on a good spring rate option other than 620s?

I'm looking for a front skid that works with a 6" lift. Any recommendations?

Hope you guys have a great Thanksgiving!

Edit: I know Procomp makes one, but this one seems slightly different than a few of the other builds that I've looked at.

Awesome truck, man! 295 may be my next choice of tires, I have 285/75r16 right now. How bad is the power loss with those shoes?

Apologies I haven't been on in a couple days. I think you will notice little to no power loss with the 295 70 r17 from your current setup. Here is what is strange, and I cannot figure it out, but the truck actually felt way worse with the 265 70 r17 general AT2s on it than the 295 70 r17 terra grapplers. I think its purely a rolling resistance thing and or possibly an alignment thing! I average anywhere from 15-17mpg depending on season and type of driving (city or highway) which is basically the same mpg I was getting on 265s @ 2.5" lift. Thanks for the praise! more pix of the truck in my gallery!

I want to go that way in a future, but my truck is my daily drive and I live in the fucking city. With my 285/75 I felt the loss of power and definitely the mpgs get worse. I am not sure how the truck is going to act with 35s and re-gear is not an option to me. So, I don't want to waste money in wheels and tires just to keep them in the backyard. It is good too see how it's working for you! That's great, bro! That give me some hope! ;)
