With the upgraded dirt logic shocks for the price of the stage 1 kit I would consider it.

After many hours/days of researching 6" lifts for Tacomas...Fabtech is the only way to go. Now having driven/wheeling 5000+ miles on the Fabtech...2 thumbs up!

I have one. Its the uppers, spindles, and coils. The coils bow like hell but I've launched the hell out of it and have had no problems yet. But id rather save up and get a lt kit.

OK so here's my $.02: I just bought my '11 Tacoma TX in May and I am completely against having to shell out for suspension AND replacement fenders to install LT. It just seems ridiculous to pull off perfectly good fenders and then have to color match some goofy looking fiberglass jobs to make this work. I am NOT going to pre-load my suspension to achieve a measly 2-3" of lift to be able to install tires just slightly larger than the OE ones and no appreciable gain in ground clearance. I know Old Man Emu makes good stuff but it kind of falls into the same lack of impact category as the spacer style suspension. I enjoy hillclimbs and would like to be confident dealing with average type obstacles--not much for rock crawling through fields of boulders but am planning on rock rails. SOOOOO what's left other than the 6 inch drop bracket suspensions like Fabtech or a custom job that would probably be as much or more than the buttload needed for LT??? Hit me!

The measly 2-3" coil lift with larger tires is going to give you more ground clearance than the 6" lift.

Don't want the extra stress of preloading the suspension--seems counter productive if not outright destructive.

Maybe I should look at Pro Comp............

Have you looked at the allpro LT kit? I think you can run up to a 33/12:50 with out changing you fenders.

Spacers pre load your suspension replacing the factory shocks and coils with aftermarket products does not most people do a 3" lift with new coils and longer shocks. I used the toytec ultimate lift and new upper control arms. 3" no preload and yes more ground clearance than a drop bracket lift. All this with a much smoother on road ride than factory.

3 inch coilovers with uca replacement improves your travel, ground clearance and ride quality. Radiant red is also correct in pointing out that with a coilover lift you have more clearance than a 6 inch DB lift. You can also travel faster offroad than with the 6 inch lift. If you choose to go LT, you don't HAVE to get fiberglass fenders. You can just run smaller tires or trim/roll your fenders. Long travel does not give huge lift gains, just usable travel.

A drawback to DB lift is that you cannot revert back to stock if you want to sell your truck. So its ultimately what you want to do with your truck and how you want it to look.

So what set up can you get the highest lift with without going LT and replacing fenders and all that? and cost wise? most clearance...if money is no object...

The whole point of lifting your truck if wheeling it should be based on getting the most out of your suspension for your needs. Easily stating one would want to have the smallest amount of lift (~3" to maintain a lower center of gravity) to fit the biggest size of tires ( which is what actually gives you the "true" ground clearance) not the percieved ground clearance of a said 6" lift. There is a reason why LT kits are more expensive and why a coilover suspension is slightly less than that, is because they are more efficient, adjustable, etc.

I'm not knocking the 6" lift but everyone has there reasons for getting one whether it be cheaper, looks, or just want one. But a coilover non-D/B suspension is "Better" than a D/B just like SAS is better than all of em' for General purpose offroading (not you baja guys though).

Look at allpro LT you can run 33-12.50 without changing your fenders. Other than that drop bracket lift is the way to go if you don't want to change your fenders. Although you will have to trim your fenders a little either way. All these guys saying you cant wheel hard core offroad with a DB lift are up in the night and the only place you get more clearance on a 3" lift is your front end under your pumpkin and even then not much more everywhere else like approach angle departure angle and between a the front and rear axles you have 3 more inches of clearance. Full LT is always going to kick ass over DB or 3" coils if you want to hall ass in the desert and even some Rock crawling but even them there is trade offs alinement will never be the same with LT. you will need to strengthen every thing frame, spindles, upper shock mount that is if you want to really use it to its potential IE. Camburg, Total Chaos. I think allpro is a good in-between kit not to aggressive doesn't screw with alinement as much and you can still rock crawl because its only 2" wider on each side. For a non go fast desert person the DB is the best for both worlds
check out lightmup2 on youtube it shows how well a DB lifted taco can do on the rocks and and in the dunes. If you want to get really crazy on the rocks do a SAS. Hole crap that was a long rant sorry hopefully it helped a little.
    DB baby totally capable!

You CANNOT run All Pro LT with 33's without fiberglass fenders. If you get out there and actually use the travel it will bash your stock fenders like a retard on a drum on a set.
