I have a 2014 Tacoma with the factory backup camera. I recently installed a Pioneer AVIC-6000NEX head unit. How can I hook up my factory backup camera to it?

I know there have been a lot of threads on this but I can't find one for my exact situation. Most of them talk about the older Tacomas with the video in the rear view mirror. Is it easier to just rip out the old one and get an aftermarket one that fits in the tailgate? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

i dont know the specifics but when my 12-volt guy wired my DNN991HD, he wired the factory backup camera to go to both the rear view mirror and the Kenwood. he didnt think twice about it so it can be easily done. i just cant help you with the specifics. i know he just wire tapped ino the factory wires and piped it into the kenwood input somwhere.

Did you ever get to the bottom of this? I'm in the same spot, I have my aftermarket deck ready for the camera feed but I can't figure out how to make it work with my 2014

Well, now I have another project to take out my stereo and finally get my camera wired up. Thanks, @foxfire235 . I'll try this on my 2014 and let you know. It's been a while, but I think I remember seeing that harness when I was trying to figure this out.

The only thing i can think of is you didn't connect the ground or power properly. Also, your stereo may need to be checked to make sure the camera settings are correct, and that you have the cable plugged into the proper port. what model is it?

Pioneer avh x5800bhs it has a back up camera input and a video input. I've tried both. I double checked my wired as well. Even made another wire. Only thing I can think of is that it's not getting power. Rca wire is extremely thin on the positive. Thinking about ordering one of these http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/231207...7290-0%26rvr_id%3D1163586761573&ul_noapp=true. And to top it off my airbag light is staying on. Ugh, never had this much problems with stereo stuff

That's a real pain. My pioneer had controls in the settings to adjust the camera polarity and things like that. Make sure you check those.

Will do thanks. I did get my airbag light off. Don't know how that got tripped to begin with. Left the battery off for about 30 minutes and the light is off now. Just waiting to get the new cables from eBay to try again

The video that Mosquito Taco in post 7 is how I'd like to wire up my rev camera on my JVC V340. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP???
    Video states V+ to red
V- to white, bare, but it looks as though there is a wire connecting V+ & red with a jumper wire to bare wire, white, and V-... Is that correct?? The other wires I can figure out, but the 3 bundled wires are driving me crazyyyyy!!!! Thanks in advance Bros of the Taco!!!!!

Yeah, they should work on your aftermarket set up. Pending on your stereo, you may have an on/off option?? Just follow the RCA conversion mod and you should be fine... That's what I used for my set up... G/L..
