This ^^^^^^ Heat is much worse for batteries than cold is.

Stock one in my 19 just got swapped out at 45k (no issues) with a dual post AGM from Costco. I run a fridge when camping and even though my stock battery hadn’t let me down yet I knew it was just a matter of time.

The stock batteries seem to be very hit/miss though.

Might as well wait until your engine coolant is 7 years old and corrodes your water pump and radiator before changing the coolant, too.

Truth, the cold winter is when we see more failures here as it not only saps the amps from the battery but the metals and oil are harder to get moving

Stock battery in my 2017 (late 2016) finally gave out last year. I've heard a lot of people say they only get around 3 years out of the stock battery so it sounds like I was above average.

Tip: after nearly being stranded in Arches NP with the battery, I was able to start it after realizing that you don't need to hold the brake beyond the initial button push, for those with electronic brake boosters. Letting off allowed enough power to crank and restart the engine so I could get to an O'Reilly Auto Parts.

When they go out, do they give any warning? Like turning over slow?

I had 3 Mustangs, and one 4x4 Explorer. On all 4 the battery would show zero signs of a problem, go out the next day and dead as a doornail.

I don't fuck around. I'm a "replace it with a new one every 5 years" kind of guy.

I got a bonus with my wife's old Rav4, 11 years. Was cranking just slow enough not to start one time. I jumped it and it fired right up, at the time I figured it was cheap insurance to do it and bought a new one that night. Turns out it was the original battery, we'd had it 7 years but I surmised it could have had a new one right before we bought it. I was wrong.

No way to know for sure. See above for my wife's old Rav4. My Tacoma just went all to nothing one day (to be fair it was about 7 degrees not counting wind chill). Jumped it with my pack, ran it 20 minutes, shut it off. 5 minutes later stone dead again. Suckbag all around as it took me 30 minutes to thaw the hood just to open it, then had to go buy a new battery and go to my parents' house to use their garage..all the while having to pack start it each time I shut it down.
