    Thanks FL_TRD SPORT,
I never even knew this option even existed and it will be a nice, easy little upgrade for day-to-day usefulness. This is EXACTLY why I joined the forum when I bought mine. I need the help!:help:
    Again, thanks for the input!

This is good to know. I was planning on adding the option for $250ish on the website when setting up a pre-order. This will save $200 lol

Yeah, I think I may have gotten a little overwhelmed :goingcrazy:when selecting options and upgrades looking through all the options and the subsequent cost when ordering my truck.
I just made sure to get the real serious options and figured I could worry over the lesser things later and, as Lphonz09 said...save a few bucks, too.

I just looked this afternoon and yep, I have the "Off/Door/On" switch for the cargo light on the dash and the snap covers in the bed. Awesome!:burnrubber:

‘21 ordered oem from parts.Passporttoyota.com, install took 15 min. Everything is plug and play. Several good Youtube vids on the install.

Pulling off the first tail light was a tiny bit scary . But once I got a feel for the clips and pressure needed to remove, the 2nd side was easy.

Yes. Two bolts out and a gentle tug towards the rear. It won't break.
Watch a YouTube video to see the correct two bolts.

    Hello Guys,
I just got a Tacoma 2022, tried to install the cargo LED lights (plug and play) but when I removed the tail lights, the pre-wired connector is not there to plug and play the lights.
What options do you think I have?
Should I tap the cargo on/off switch to run a cable all the way back to the tail lights and then connect the LED lights?
Or it is easier to run a cable in parallel from the existing cargo light?
    Any comments are welcome..

Did you look inside a little deeper? What model did you get? Did you check for the "On/Off/Door" switch?

    Hello Montana_Actual

I did not, just removed both tail lights and did not find the harness/connector for the plug and play LED lamp.
I will go underneath the bead to look for with more details.
The model I got os a Tacoma 2022 TRD Sport 4X2.
Did you mean the switch attached in the picture? It works fine.
    Thank you!!

Interesting....I have a 2021 TRD Sport 4x2 and the plug for the OEM bed lights was right behind the tail light. If you notice on the videos posted it's pretty evident once you know what to look for. Could they have deleted that for 2022?

Yes, I was puzzled when I did not find them.
I will look underneath the bead to see if for some reason they fell off or something else

    Hello..
I looked underneath on both sides, the harnesses are missing.
I also removed the tail lights again to make sure I was not missing something
    These are the pics..
I guess I would need to connect the lights by installing a harness from the cargo switch all the way back?
    Any suggestion?
Many thanks for your support everyone!

Well damn. Sorry about that man! That is very odd. You should call the dealer and see what's up. Maybe they cut it from that model? I know this might seem tedious, but did you fish around in there for loose stuff that could be pulled out? Maybe take that wire harness off and see if there is any play. Could be tucked way inside? Kinda odd... Now I will have to look at mine and check too. I do have a TRD OR and I do have the spots for the lights to be mounted to in the bed. Do you have those? There should be two removable panels on the bedside where they would mount.

I have a 2022 AC TRD offroad and don't have the switch or lights on the cab. So I guess I need to make my own lights?

    Hi there..!
I look around and found this connector, but I guess those are for the hitch, right?
    I attached the picture.
Unfortunately, there are no more wires around..
In fact, the reason I bought the LED lights was because the bed has the spots with the lids, I assumed it was pre-wired for plug and play, my bad..
I will contact the dealer to see what happened.
Depending what they tell me, I’m considering anyways tapping the cargo switch and make the connections in parallel with the existing tail gate light, what do you think?
Is there a wiring diagram available just to make sure I don’t mess up?
    Thanks again!

Nope that be for the bumper Parking assist sensors and/or the cross traffic doppler sensors.
