Has anyone modified the port option usb outlet behind the center console into a full 120v outlet?

I have seen the threads related to adding a whole new set of components but if we already have an outlet there, how can I go about using the existing outlet?

    Total electrical newbie here.

You need a 12v DC to 120v AC inverter (Google it, they sell them starting at about $40). “Using the existing outlet” you will only have about 120 watts max.

I see the ones that transform the cigarrete lighter inside the center console, but what I have is 2 usb charging ports in the rear of my center console, facing the passengers.

Kinda like how people do the 400w ac outlet in cab mod? Or does that only work in the trd sport due to the existing connections?

If you have the bed outlet, then you already have a converter. You can do the 400W mod and install an AC outlet (just do a search). You could keep it to 120W but it’ll max out pretty quick.

You can fit a 400W inverter right there under the center console. That’s where Toyota puts them. You’ll need a 10awg wire to the battery with a 40A fuse.

I don't have the bed outlet sadly, it's an sr5.

The dual usb from factory is a little bit above the pic you posted.

I'm guessing I would need some sort of 12v to 120v inverter then can't just use the existing connection.

The easiest thing to do is get a 400w dc to ac inverter and wire it directly to the battery and run into the cab (with 0/1 ga welding wire). Put a 40amp breaker near the battery.

It’ll have a couple 20amp fuses already in it, has an on off switch and you don’t have to cut into stock wiring. They’re really inexpensive.

1/0 is way overkill. I think Toyota uses 10awg to do the same thing.

A 4 gauge car audio amplifier wiring kit and some adel clamps would probably work.
