Has anyone utilized the factory switch and most of the circuit in a 2016-2017?

I don't need the fog lights and want to wire my lights using the factory switch and the dash light for fogs.

I have a relay in the aftermarket light and can easily cut and splice the power from the stock switch. But I want to see if anyone else has done this.

I'm not interested so much on older Tacomas. These newer ones seem to get jacked up when you mess with any of the factory wiring - see LED headlights or LED interior lights.

Note: I'm not using any of the out of cab wiring for the lights. That's all aftermarket and hooked to the battery. I'm only interested in the stock switch and dash light.

So I was confused. For some reason I thought the fogs were on a push button. They aren't. It's on the indicator stalk. After briefly thinking about tearing apart the column to find the wire, I figured why not power the relay from the actual fog pigtail. Since that powers the fogs I don't see why I can't power a relay.

I have aftermarket lights and have removed my stock fogs. So I want to utilize the factory fog switch (and dash light) to operate my new aftermarket lights.

That link helped though. I remembered one thing I didn't like about them. The fogs turn off with the high beams.

So I either need to get over that hurdle so they stay on. Or just stick with the switch I have now.

I think there is a thread on here for that as well, but it doesn't interest me so I don't have a link to it.

I've looked and found a couple. Seems too involved (unlike the 2nd mod). I figure these lights are so bright having my brights on at the same time probably won't make a difference.
