Factory Headlight Issues

    what are the modifications that they made to the 2012 assemblies to prevent this

    CBI bed rack and sliders, Backwoods Adventure Mods front and rear bumpers, etc. And some stickers.
    2012 lenses are a completely different design. I had the TSB done on my 2009 due to cracking/melting, and the replacement assemblies looked slightly different.

    I don't think anyone is going to know specifically what they did, but most likely the designers of the original ones were not told that the signal lights would be used as daytime running lights. They didn't use a material that would withstand the heat generated by having those lights on most of the time.

    The lenses still seem to get plenty hot so it will be interesting to see if they truesly are different (I hope so) or if the fail like others

    I know.........that's why I went ahead and switched to LED's

    I just got mail from toyota today to address the issue. It's to address inner daytime running lights and turn signal lens becomes distorted and bubbled. In addition, Inner lens may appear cracked or seperated. On my 2010 it extends the warranty for headlights through November 30, 2015 regardless of mileage. The letter is specific to my VIN. Seems like this has been an issue for years, so it's about time they do something about it. On the bright side, I get a free set of headlights next week!
