Does anybody have any experience with BOTH of these?

I am trying to decide what route to take and I am looking to get an opinion from somebody that has a lot of experience with both setups in our trucks. I like the look of the factory head unit & the fact that it doesn't advertise a sound system. I have been hearing that a high quality DSP can fix the shortcomings of the signal from the factory head unit. The other option is obviously an aftermarket head unit which will produce a better signal then stock. From what I can find online it is still up for debate on which will sound better. I am aiming for a SQ system here and don't want to have any major "weak links." I really just want to make sure a DSP will work well with the factory head unit in the 2013 and not let me down as far as SQ goes.

    Planned components:
    Alpine PDX Amps
    HATs in the doors
Image Dynamics 10s behind the back seat

Music will be played from an ipod classic with high bit rate ALACs or mp3s.

    Thank you!

I have a alpine pxe-h660 dsp hooked up to my factory hu currently in my 2012 tacoma, it's running to a alpine pdx-v9 with 6.5 components in front. To me it sounds awesome, the truck looks totally stock and no one can tell that there is a aftermarket sound system installed.

Of course you'll be able to play around more with the equalizer with a aftermarket deck, but i wanted to keep all my factory controls, bluetooth, xm radio, handsfree and that why i went that route.
