a ton of people dont have an auxilary input and cant just plug their 3.5mm cable in
so therefor a ipod adapter makes it possible to use your ipod

If you lived in colorado then they can pull you over for fumbling with an I pod just the same as sending a text message while driving. Not worth the hassle plus the sound quality an
d convenience of using the controlls on the dash. Its only 120.00 sometimes a little less online. I have found them for 99.00 several times. 3.5 cable and charger is about 30.00 so for a difference of 69.00 that is just not enough money to make the cheap method worth it IMO.

I have found something else that works really well that gives you ipod control from the steering wheel and charging. The Kensington LiqudAux deluxe kit. It has a remote, a holder that plugs into the lighter port and will hold an ipod or iphone in a case and plugs into the aux port right next to the power port.

For another option you can get the basic kit which is just a cable rather than the holder but still has the same aux connection and remote.

These can be had for about $20-30 online. I got mine though macmall when it was on sale for $17. I have been very happy with it and have had it since May.

If any of you guys are like me, you hate seeing wires going all over the place. So maybe the $100 might be worth it.
    currently for me its
    phone charger
    i pod charger
    aux cord
    and sometimes digital camera charger

toyota should have put usb input in trucks and gone away with the CIGG lighter ports and put usb chargers. everythin charges by usb these days.
