Does it anybody know somewhere you can get keys that can be programmed for keyless entry other than dealership like the one pictured?

As for programming the key you may have to contact a locksmith.

Ok that's not a very good answer. Next.

That’s the reason why I haven’t bought a newer truck. Replacing a key for my truck costs $3 and a new fob $20. Programming the fob is on YouTube video.

I found one on Amazon for my 2019 Tacoma.

    https://www.amazon.com/Electronic-3...remote+key+fob+tacoma+hyq12bdp,aps,105&sr=8-2

That's just one listing, there are others on the site as well.

Listing says that it will work on a 2020. Listing also says that the range is less than the OEM fob, if that's an issue for you.

The ad says that it must be cut and programmed by a professional automotive lock smith.

This is timely as one of my factory remotes and one H chip key were misplaced on our recent move. I think Toyota wants close to $300.00 for the key and programming. If they don't turn up I'm going to at least get a chip key if not a factory style remote. I don't use the factory remote as I have an aftermarket remote start with it's own fob, but I might try this anyway.

check ace hardware. many will do duplicates, including duplicating the digital part(important, this is a direct digital copy only, as some vehicles track which key is used for various features like seat location, presets, etc).

but it's basically the same tech as any locksmith. most locksmiths are pretty reasonable, less than $75 normally.

and just to be clear, you're coming off as an asshole. be the man you want to be, not the man you were shown to be.

You're welcome. If I have time tomorrow I'm going to get a replacement chip key for ignition only cut and programmed. I'll ask the locksmith about the cost of programming a remote. In the meantime please post your experience with this key if you but one.

The reason why I ask is because I bought this one. I took it to the locksmith. I got charged 90 bucks to be programmed and the guy told me it wouldn't program. So I was curious if there is something on the back of the key that is unique I should be looking for.

Look at the label on the fob and make sure that the FCC number matches the one on your fob and in the ad on line.
