    Another vote for OEM here.

    OEM provides better overall light output than any aftermarket LED headlight. So if your top priority is better nighttime visibility, then it is a no-brainer.

    The only reasons to go with non-OEM is for the startup flash sequence, or you simply prefer the external appearance over OEM.

    I switched my halogens to OEM LED's. Not cheap but worth it.

    Are OEMs "not in production" and harder to get? Or do they still make OEMs compatible with 3rd gen?

    The LEDs were flawless for me. It’s true they can slowly lose brightness but over something like 50,000 hours. If averaging 30 mph that’s 1.5 million miles. The only downside to them, IMO, is if you hit something and break it it’s very expensive to replace.
