    Hi all,

I just got a taco from the dealership with 2 inch factory lifted. The lift they put seems to be a Bilstein 4600 blue and yellow finishing. The truck also runs on 285. I thought for any lifting this has to be done on a 5100.

    Any thoughts?

You have a spacer lift, they use the factory sport Bilstein's that come with the truck, those are OEM not 4600.

Looks like they put in spacers to give you a lift. If you're just staying on pavement, you're probably ok, but if plan on any serious off-roading, they're probably not a good idea. I'm still just a novice, so I'd see what other more experienced folks have to say.

Ah.. silly me.. I wasnt aware they were the same color. Are all OEM shock from taco come in the same?

I don't plan on going off road soon, it's more of daily commute for me. Thanks for heads up!

Spacer lifts are fine if you're on road 80% of the time or do any mild off-roading. If you start noticing your rear to sag, I'd upgrade your leaf pack from OEM to aftermarket.

will spacer lift be the cheapest way to fit 17x8 -10 offset with 275/70/17 with no rubs?

Simple answer is yes. If u go with KO2, they tend to run smaller than other tires, shouldn't be an issue

in no way is that a "factory lift". the toyota factory doesn't offer that.

Looks like you have a dealer add-on spacer lift. Pump up for looks and more $ at sale

There is a Toyota lift, installed at dealer, but this ain't it. See here:

sorry to deflate your excitement for your new truck

Yeah , no . Thats not a factory lift. Unless its on a Trd Pro, factory lifts dont really exist.

The only current Toyota branded option is the port or dealer installed TRD lift kit which includes rebranded Bilstein 5100s on all 4 corners and 1” spacer blocks in the rear.

What you have may be a poorly worded ‘factory style’ lift, and yes typically that involves replacing the rear shocks with 5100 or equivalent for longer reach when using a block or add a leaf.

What I see is a very low cost decoration, using the factory Off Road Bilstein rear shocks. Im not trying to be a dick but thats a more accurate description.

To answer one of your questions, The OR shocks pictured are Bilsteins , similar build to 4600s, while factory Sport shocks are Hitachi and all blue.

What does it have going on in the front as far as lift?

No offense taken. I got the truck as is. Lift was done by pervious owner. Service was done by Toyota tho. I guess the previous owner just bring in the spacer and have Toyota install it? The truck is under factory warranty regardless. They did mark up the price of the truck tho but it is what it is.

Im just clubless what they did. Well.. I'm learning.

Lol , all good. Gotta start somewhere. Thats how I learned years ago. Luckily nothing major changes throughout the years suspension wise.
Once you know the differences between the suspension on different trim levels SR, OR, Sport, PRO etc the rest is easy.
