Anyone have a part number for just a direct replacement muffler that goes right on a new midpipe and hangs in factory hanger? Im replacing the O2 midpipe and would like to just do the muffler while I am at it. The one on it is pretty old and rusted out. I am just going to do a short pipe after w a turndown so I dont really want a $200 kit w tailpipe etc. a mild perf muffler would b fine just nothing loud. iv looked at some of the Walker mufflers but w all the possibilities I don’t want to order the wrong one. But even just a straight factory replacement would b ideal. 03 ext cab 4x4 3.4L. Thanks!

as far as i know the factory muffler is all one piece, part of the catback and is pricey if its still available

So I may be just looking at getting a muffler and having a hanger put on it.

I have a Bosal cat back one piece on mine, direct factory replacement. A little more throaty than the original. I have heard if you were to order a replacement from Toyota Bosal is what you get. I got mine from Rock Auto.

I researched and ordered this stainless Magnaflow muffler from Summit. I wanted to replace JUST the factory muffler (split right down the center seam). This muffler is the exact length as original, and the in-and-out pipes are staggered like the original. All you have to do is to fashion a hanger (not too hard at all).

Fits perfectly with the use of a stainless band-clamp. If you have never used Band-clamps, you need to check em out. We used them in the trucking industry all the time, so I was used to spec'ing them. They are permanent and you don't have to weld any pipes together.

I think i figured it out. Going to just do a factory Walker SS replacement setup. Seems bout the most straight fwd cheapest option without using a shop.

The quality of Walker vs Bosal is noticeable. My Bosal has lasted twice as long as my Walker did. The Walker seemed to rust from the inside out at the back of the muffler and elsewhere.

Go for it with the glasspack if that's what turns your crank; I will stick with my stainless steel $92 muffler ;-)
