Has anyone updated their maps on the factory navigation system? I have a 2016 and maps definitely seem outdated.

I haven't updated mine. Last time I checked Toyota wanted like $150 for the maps update. I just use Google Maps when I need navigation, which I think is a lot better than the built in navigation.

I am interested in updating my 2017 maps as well, I'm just not sure how to do it (without just asking the dealer and forking over a load of cash)...

You might want to wait a little longer. In my area (MA) they are relabeling all of the US RT highway exits numbers to conform with federal regulations. All exit #'s will represent the mile marker moving forward. If they have not done this in your area yet it will happen soon (in every state). You will want to make sure any update includes the new numbing scheme.

Interesting. Until a couple of years ago I lived in Southern NH and always found the exit numbers in New England to be all over the place. I didn't know there were federal guidelines, nevermind an effort to actually abide by them!

I believe the states have no choice, conform of lose funding of some sort. It will definitely take some getting used to but it totally makes sense. My exit off the highway was #11, followed by #12 a few (5)miles down the road. Now We are exit 22 and the next exit is #27 (5 miles).
