Hey I have a 2001 Tacoma with a factory radio that is dead. Checked the fuse under the hood and it is fine. Power to the dome light and cig lighter work also. The additional 12v plugs work too. The previous owner installed an alarm system and think this may be the culprit? Are there any obvious spots I should be looking at with the alarm instal? I am thinking power may have been stolen from the radio for the alarm...or maybe the radio was shorted out? Dunno??? I would like to keep the truck stock if I could as it's in great shape.

Get the wiring diagram (stickies at top of forum have links to the service manual) and meter power right at the connector to the radio to see if you are getting 12V constant and switched. You should also see a feed for the dash lights. People sell the radios on here for cheap often, maybe buy an extra one?
I’m thinking of selling mine however I may sell the whole truck instead. Hit me up on a week of you are interested.
