Is it just me or does everyone expect their base factory radio in a $25k truck to sound like a professionally tuned Harmon Kardon?

Really, stock stereos have always been left wanting. But compare the factory system against one from 10 years ago. Hell...the pretacos had 4" in the dash...and that was it for the single cabs.

I've got the JBL and it does a great job. The bass is present without sounding like a thumper, and the mids and highs are decently balanced at normal volume. No, it doesn't sound as good as a system I could build, but it works. And if you're an audio purist, I would assume that you've already replaced your radio or are saving the 1000+ dollars required to do so.

Just be glad your stock radio doesn't get stuck on Radio Disney at random times.

I was told the headunits were made by Panasonic. I've since upgraed to an Eclipse AVN2210 with color matched scosche (spelling???) dash kit and it sounds significanly better (also added GPS, blue tooth, XM, etc..).
