    Hey everyone,

I'm looking to swap my wheel and tires.
Honestly, pretty set on Black Rhino Armory 17x9.5 -18mm wheels. But still looking for tires.

I want to keep the factory suspension at least for the time being, what are you guys running if you have a similar set up and still allowing enough room for tire movement over difficult terrain?

With those wheel specs, even with a smaller (265/70/17) you will rub on stock suspension.

    Too much.
Yep. I went with 265-70-17 on a 17x8" zero ET and the fronts rubbed on the OEM mudflaps at half turn (or a little further) with the stock hitachi suspension. You can take them off, but if you are "articulating" and turning, you will stuff the tire.

255/75/17 may fit with mudflapper removal

Well then shit. Anyone know any wheels that have a similar style and would allow large more off road appropriate tires?
(I sound like a guy that only cares about looks, but promise I don't. HA)

What do you care about more?

    A) Fitting the tallest tires?

    B) Fitting the fattest tires?

    C) Fitting wheels/tires that poke out?

    D) A combination of the above?

265/70/17 in a beefy AT will work great an allow full articulation of the stock suspension. Plenty of folks running one sized bigger tire an do knarly wheeling just gotta pick your lines carefully.

    D?
I'm a autocross guy finally getting his first truck and wanting to get into off-roading out here in the Southwest. So looking for clearance and grip in all sorts of terrain.

Well, you can get those same wheels in the same size but +6 offset. Which should allow you to fit the 265/70/17 without rubbing.

Wow, I didn't even see the +6 on the chart on their website.

Now keep in mind that offset does impact “the look”. IMO, +6 will not look as aggressive as -18.

You can run the -18s, will just have to trim. Possibly align to max caster.

had to refresh my knowledge on offset for a second...

    How would a -18 rub suspension but +6 wouldn't?

It doesnt rub against the suspension. It can rub against the inner fender well and cab mount when you turn.

    Yep.

Too much positive and you can run the inside of tire against suspension components. Too much negative and you can rub outside of tire against fender/cab mount.

0 tends to be comsidered a good happy medium. It sits basically flush with the fender.
