What percent is the factory tint? Going to get the driver and passenger windows tinted and may darken the back side windows as well.

    Thanks

I got 25% and it appears to match.

Probably 20%, but the front windows have a tiny bit of tint to begin with, so like rottenpixies said 25% will get a very close match.

Wouldn't the tint be a port/dealer install? States have differing laws as to what would be legal in your state. Texas allows the rear windows to be pretty much as dark as you want but the front can't be no more than 25% (if I remember correctly). You may want to check local laws.

EDIT - just did a quick Google search for Tennessee tint laws - http://tintlaws.com/tennessee-window-tint-law.php

Not factory tint. It's actually tinted glass, not just film.

I initially thought 20%... but the tint guy told me that 15% would match better. I went with his recommendation and it looks great. I also did a 5% brow and I tinted the whole windshield. It came out really well. Let me know if you have any questions or wanna see pics.

Ah, okay. Mine were already film tinted by the dealer so I didn't notice. Thanks for the clarification.

This. The glass is not tinted, but smoked. Which is why the tint percentage isn't exactly the same as aftermarket tint. I would say it's around 17-18%, but you may only be able to choose 15 or 20. In that scenario... I would go with the 15.

Thanks, the front is slightly darker or so it seems in all aspects. I plan on going darker in the rear anyhow. All the dealer had was 17 and 32, no way I was going 32. I wanted 20 at least. My old truck was 12% front and the rear was fuckingretarded% made reversing at night a bitch!

I went with a brand called "Executive 60". It's a 60% tint that is used for heat shielding. It's near impossible to tell just by looking at it, but the difference in heat is insane. It also eliminates glares and halos during night driving. I got it to preserve the dash.

I'm at work and unable to post pics. I'll take some and post tonight.

So are you guys adding additional tint to the backs or just adding the 15% to the front?

Nothing to the back. Throw on 15 in the front, a 5 on the brow and you'll be set.

You are saying that Toyota is illegally selling vehicles in California?

there can be no tint on the windshield of front side windows in California. The only thing you can have is the clear UV blocking film. Any tint on these three windows is illegal.

It's also illegal for dealerships to sell a vehicle which is unsafe to drive on public roads. So dealerships can't install it in port and sell it, either
