I was told my front windows had to have the factory tint stripped and replaced. I didn't know the fronts came tinted. I have a 17 double cab. They appear dark but I read somewhere it's "smoked"

the fronts DO NOT come from the factory tinted. dealers install tint once they receive the vehicle and upcharge for it but it is NOT factory tint. if there is a film on your front doors it isn't factory it is a dealer add on that you probably paid way too much for.

Gotcha, tint wasn't mentioned on any of the stickers so hopefully I didn't pay for something that wasn't a detailed line item lol. It is a hit darker for sure as it's not perfect clear. Someone mentioned a privacy glass earlier.

front doors do not come with privacy glass, only the rear. if you roll your window down and see an edge of clear and then it gets darker, its an aftermarket film that your dealer put on. and if that is the case, if you bought it new, you most definitely paid for it. dealers sometimes add stuff like that into some kind of package and don't detail what all is in it.

Perfect! Thanks Jeff. This is exactly what I was looking for.

In case you guys are wondering, here's the formula to find the new %VLT (%VLT of existing window * %VLT of Tint Film you are choosing). The answer is the new %VLT of your window after the tint film is applied. For example (Front %VLT is 70% * 35% Tint Film of your choosing = 24.5% (this is the new %VLT for that window)

What are people doing for the back window?
I just removed my campershell and now it feels way too bright inside. But the factory privacy still looks sorta dark from the outside.
Id like to have it a darker inside but if I ever put the campershell back on I still want to be able to see out of it so not sure what to go with
