I had my second flat tire yesterday. I Drive dirt roads and gravel roads a lot. I’m at 20,000 miles on the factory tires. Is that about all they’re good for mileage wise.

Custom sliders (1.75" HREW tube w/ 3/16" base plates). Custom front bumper and high clearance rear bumper (1/4" steel plate, 1.75" tube.) Tekonsha P3 brake controller, remote start, any-time-backup camera w/ front facing camera, Leer 100R shell (w/e-track single slot tie-down mounts for removable Yakima EasyTop.) Cat shields by CaliRaised. Husky liners, window tint, heated seat (passenger only.) Relentless bed rail brackets with QuickFists (shovel/axe/fire extinguisher.) Hondo Garage Un-holey vent mount. Anytime rear with front facing camera. Billet front seat risers. Viair 88p. 265/75r16 Goodyear Ultra-terrain tires.
Need more details. How did the tires fail?

You have a PRO so assume your truck came with the Goodyear Kevlars... they shouldn't fail that early on gravel roads.

Well, constant driving on dirt and gravel roads can be pretty rough on a set of tires especially if you have 20K on them already.

The factory tires aren't that good for sure. But they shouldn't "fail" that soon. What caused the flat? Tires don't usually just go flat.

I had two flats on a set of tires that were maybe 200miles old. Both were from roofing nails. That's not a "fail" just shit luck.

I moved the tires from my Pro to a truck that is pretty much exclusively driven on gravel. No issues.

We can't help you when you give us a vague statement.

Does that road have jagged rocks?
    Broken pieces of metal?
Are there nails on the road or other sharp debris?
Do you drive by or through construction sites?
Have you hit anything hard recently; causing a bent rim?

What’s causing the flats? Is it nails, cuts from rocks? Soooo much info left out here that it’s hard to unpack. You could switch them out for 10 ply tires and you won’t get as many flats but you will probably be back on here asking why your gas mileage now sucks just like everyone else who puts on 80lb tires

Rims are not bent. Roads are crushed granite and regular gravel. My average speed per Garman is 29 mph. There are a lot of potholes. I slow down some. But it’s not nails. No construction site. I work in the Oil field. Mostly just piercing in the tire like through the rubber. I’m guessing it’s the rock. But the tread is not very deep on these anyways compared to normal all-terrain tires. They definitely have worn pretty fast.

My Goodyear Kevlar tires that came with the truck were BALD at 34K. Absolutely disappointed with them, especially being rated for 60K. The truck is a daily driver, tires always rotated, never abused. The only good thing is Goodyear gave me a hell of a discount on brand new Duratracs that have been on for 35K and still have 3/4 tread on them. Something was up with the stock tires.

My best guess: When you hit that pothole, you are popping the tire off the rim (the seal wasn't great when it came from Toyota), thus causing a slow or fast leak. That leads to your flat tire. As for the tire tread being shitty, well...join the club.

My apologies guys. I have to hit 50 posts per forum rules to buy/sale on the forum. Unfortunately I am well versed in using the search bar. But I have to reach 50. when I get home I’ll make feedback threads on Wescott lift,Kdmax pro tune, Doug thorley y-pipe, injen evolution intake, recgen mudflaps, beatsonic phone mirroring kit, replacing factory speakers, adding sound deadner in doors, gator hard tri-fold bed cover, total chaos bed stiffeners, offroam cell phone mount, radio screen protector, mirror dongle that allows USB plug-in, and every other mod I have done. I’ve never been one to ask questions. I actually take joy in searching and finding the answer myself. I moderate a charger board with 20,000 members. I don’t require a 50 post. We have a good/bad feedback page. And I like to drop the ban hammer. Makes it much easier than someone having to spend hours making 50 posts that actually makes sense. Because if I spam posts that don’t make sense I’ll probably get banned. So I will ask Thoughtful questions. But I already know the answer because I search for it when I thought of it. I am currently waiting on some 265/70/16 BFG trail terrains coming Wednesday. Thanks

This is interesting... I have just over 34,000 on my stock tires (Goodyear Kevlars 265/70R16) and have found myself looking at the treads recently wondering why they look almost bald. Did you get new tires / Goodyear discount through the dealer or by other means? And did you stay with 265/70R16 or change up? (I've already been thinking of moving up to 265/75R16 when it's time for new tires) Thx

Im at 26k right now and while not bald, my tires are trash now in the snow. I will slip and slide all over on dry pavement too because the snow sticks to the tires.

Going to get new tires in the spring.

I called Goodyear direct and had them set up a time and place close to me to have them looked at by a dealer. They need them to be evaluated before they make a call. I had my service records from the dealership for the first 25K, with all the tire rotations on them, so they couldn't dispute them being rotated at the correct intervals. The dealer measured the tread and called Goodyear with a claim number, had the guy approve the discount right then, and I got new tires installed in an hour. I stayed with the stock size for now, but I could have gone larger. They also wanted to put the same tires back on, and I said no give me the better ones.
