You could always sell your cover and buy a more secure cover where you cant put a hanger or hand underneath it.

The hanger would bend before you could apply enough pressure to unlatch it.

It's an incredibly simple and effective design if you keep your tailgate locked.

And btw, comprehensive auto coverage will cover what's inside the bed.

Don't worry so much. Having a hard cover is 1000 times better than having none. Thieves are opportunists and unless they know you've got something in there, they'll likely just move on to the next easy target

I suppose so. Since my Comp is $50 deductible, The most I stand to loose is $50.

I had a weird experience when I was installing my tailgate lock I left the latch arms off the tailgate and closed it and closed the tunnel cap went to the Canadian Tire to get some tool to help me install the tailgate lock well as you can imagine I had the tailgate unhitched inside and the Tonneau cap closed there was no way in the last didn't work anymore I had to remove the security bolt in the far pasture side corner with a pole I had to try to hit the 3rd tailgate latch release this took me quite a long time with a very sore arm being squished in the tunnel cap I was just about to give up when I did hit it eventually on a very weird angle and a lot of force it popped open I didn't have to destroy my tunnel cap to get in stupid mistake but it made me realize that the security of this device is fairly good it is quite hard to get in there I tried a coat hanger through the front for a long time at the beginning I could not tell where the latch was at all

Do you really think thieves sit around figuring out how to jimmy various kinds of tonneau covers? They’ll just break it if they want to take the time to get at whatever is in your bed that they can’t see.

It is also true whatever you can slow down a thief is more discouraging to the a$$ and they might not try it ....but if somebody really want something they will get it

Unless thieves really want what you have - at which point you're screwed - they'll move on to an easier target.

Agreed, obviously do what you can to keep your stuff safe. I’m just sayin I don’t think many thieves are walking around looking for factory tonneau’s and saying to themselves “oh that’s an OEM tonneau cover, there’s a handle under there that I can pull with this coat hangar I have been carrying around for this precise moment!”

If a thief wants what's under the tonneau they'll just cut their way in - it's far more likely that they're after the contents of the box (and the tailgate) than the cover itself.

The factory cover is fairly heavy also needing a couple guys to take it off. I really can't see much for thieves wanting them either....like said their likely more interested in whats underneath.

This refers to a remote locking mod/add-on that allows you to lock your tailgate with your remote key fob.
