Just hit 36,000 miles today :(. Truck is 1 year 9 1/2 months old. I didn't buy an extended warranty either. If I wanted to spend $1500+ on a warranty, I would of bought a Dakota.

I haven't had any problems tho. The only thing I had done was the suspension TSB. Very satisfied so far.

Now all your doors and body panels are going to fall off and the engine will explode.

Its true that you can get the payments for warranty that you paid if you dont use it. HOWEVER, this is not toyotas own warranty. If you read your warranty contract, its from a third party company and it clearly says that if that company shuts its door, toyota is not liable for your refunds. You also need to get approval before you do any repairs under the warranty. Toyota is not responsible to remember your contract # and other stuff.

Initially, I got ripped off buying this and I took my truck back on the next day and cancelled it. Now the sales manager is worried about the feedback I will give them.

Toyotas own warranty is called the Premium warranty. I paid $944 for 8/100k from another dealer and that is not refundable.

Toyota extra care warranty is worth it. I paid around $900 before hitting 36K. Extra care paid for my rear spring TSB, one faulty inner tie rod and leaking LCAs. All after manufacturer warranty expired.

    .

I am in Atlanta (SET area too) and the dealer would not sell me a Toyota Corp. Platinum Extended Warranty.

He would only sell me a SET warranty and I cancelled it in the first week.

I will buy a Toyota Corp. Platinum Warranty soon. No SET aka SouthEastern Toyota warranty BS for me.

I went over my 3/36 a couple weeks ago. Guess what? Toyota corporate, when they actually call me back, is still giving me shit about doing the rear TSB and Sparks Toyota never has a freaking appointment time that is convenient for me to bring it in so I don't know. I'll get it done at some point but this recalls garbage makes it difficult to get anything done. I should not have to load up my truck with a few hundred lbs. to prove that I need it when the damn thing says right on it that it's based on customer complaint.

I've never bought an extended warranty on any vehicle and probably never will. The money I've saved in not buying them over all those years far exceeds anything I'd ever have to put out on this truck in repairs. Sure, anything can happen but, bottom line, I bought a Toyota and not another Ford for a reason and it isn't because Toyota quality sucks.
