Will my 3 year factory warranty still be good after trading my truck in then buying it back 6 weeks later?

I'm not to concerned about my last free Toyota Care oil/filter change though.

Thank you but I would much better know before I have to take the truck there. Because if I have to pay I would rather skip the dealership service dept.

The warranty is calculated from the 'first day of service'. It does not matter how many times the truck changes hands since that date. So, yes, the balance of your factory warranty would remain.

Pretty sure the factory warranty is tied to the original purchase date or actual mileage, not the subsequent transfers of ownership.

    I could be wrong though.

Factory warranty follows the vehicle so you’ll be good. But please, do tell this story, this is interesting and how much did they bend you over?

Why did you trade your truck in and then buy it back?

why would you be trading the truck in and subsequently buying it back 6 weeks later, if you are leasing would it not make more sense to just buy it out? even if you had 1/2 the mileage on the truck allocated in your lease agreement and they give you more for it as a trade in, if you buy it back it will be marked up due to being low mileage. whereas your buyout price is set based on the assumption you have put all the miles on the truck per your lease agreement.

in other words, the only foreseeable way you will get more money for your truck is by buying it out THEN trading it in somewhere, (if the trade in value is greater than your stated buyout price), otherwise you are getting screwed.

Under $3,500.00. I'm satisfied with the deal.

Over $700 of that is courtesy of the governors new tax on vehicles. And I lost $1000 on the van I traded in. So overall not bad.

Thank you. The salesman I bought the truck from the 1st time told me the same but just wanted to make sure. Truck has a clunk in the front end I need to get fixed.

Its actually date of purchase. 3 year or 36K whichever comes first.

I'm good on the mileage. Turned over to 4,000 miles this morning. 3 years ends 10/19/2021. :)

I was trying to remember the wording on the Toyota VIN site. Actual wording is 'Date of First Use' - which is the purchase date.
