If you bolt the top of the strut to the frame and stick a screw driver in the bottom mounting hole for the LCA you can twist the rod any way you want. Takes 30 seconds.

I had my 5100's put on yesterday ( 07 Tacoma) and want to move the ring up one notch to the 1.75" groove now. can i mover it up one after using floor jack like you did and raising lower control arm? I just need to relieve the pressure so I can move ring up

Hmm so you want to leave it bolted to the LCA and move the ring up? I think it would probably be a pain in the ass because you would be tangled up working around the spindle/sway bar/etc. and you would have to lift the spring and seat up to move the ring. I would just unbolt it from the LCA and do it off the truck. Adds maybe 2 minutes and will be far less frustrating I think. That's just how I'm picturing it, couldn't hurt to try though, and if it's too complicated just remove the shock assembly

Sorry... been too busy to get back. and thanks for the suggestion, but I'm still afraid to try it and decided to have shop change it when i take it in, and have been on here reading and now have new way to go. I ordered OME 885 coils today and will set 5100's at 0 when shop adds coils.
I already have AAL's and diff drop and sway bar drop kits.
I think I'm done with the parts needed? just waiting for coils to get here.
if I'm missing something let me know....
I am wondering if I can go ahead and put the diff and sway bar drop kits on before the coils get here and it gets lifted?
I would really like to do it before going to shop so they can give it an alignment when they are done putting new coils on. I will put the AAl's on just before going as well.
