Failed CA Smog "Gross Polluter" Help Please!

    OMG this is so stupid. NOTHING you pour into the gas tank or crankcase is going to fix this, common people.

    You are running super rich, dumping unburnt fuel. Because of this your catalytic is already destroyed. Also you need to post up a pic of the full report which includes the o2 and Nox readings or you wont be able to figure out the source of the issue.

    Do the plugs if you have not done already. While they are out do a compression check.


    NO 1st Gen Tacoma is designed to run ethanol as is. Dont try it.

    Incorrect. Any car from 2000 onward in CA was fully OBD2 compatible/ eOBD ready and can pass without a dyno test if so directed by the DMV, deferring to an OBD self check to pass. This is determined not by your particular car but by mass statistics of all similarly equipped Tacomas.
