    It's less Tacoma and more mod
    Looks like he welded the ball back on and then where the set screw would have gone he did a rosette weld there to hold everything in place and essentially spread the load of the extra inch.

    did i send you that shift knob? or did you make it yourself? I was always curious what happened to the one that I sent out...

    Rancho Quick lift. Wheelers Off Road Progressive AAL with Rancho RS9000's, braided brake lines & clutch line. BFG 32x11.50 15 All Terrain Tires Deck Plate Mod. Flowmaster 60 series muffler and Marlin Crawler Short Throw Shifter.
    I got the Marlin Crawler kit. I had the LCE kit but the ball adapter didn't fit very well to my stock shifter so I had it tacked welded. Didn't feel comfortable with it so I switched over to the Marlin kit.

    Yeah the Hurst shifter is a better solution IMO. It feels better, works better, and is less likely to break being that its all metal and designed to work the way it does. Only 'downside' is that it generates a little gear noise due to the solid path from the transmission into the cab, but you get used to it fast
