I searched everyway I know how and could not find a similar thread.

Yesterday when I stepped in to the throttle to pass a car in my 07 v6 auto double cab, the truck felt like it died, it went to nothing and then it felt like it down shifted then slowly began to pull again a few seconds later. it was sort of like the worst engine hesitation I have ever felt. anyone ever had this issue? no check engine lights are on or anything.

    Lots.
Could the truck be in limp mode? I think that would throw a check engine light. When you turn the truck ignition to the ON position, do the warning/check lights come on?

No check engine lights, I have never cleaned my injectors or fuel system. 82K miles, but I bought it used and have no ideas what the PO did to it. If I take off from a stop and accelerate hard through a few gears, I have no issues and it runs strong. it only occurs when I try to accelerate from a cruising speed and it doesn't matter how slowly I push the pedal down, once it gets to about 2/3 throttle it happens. Its like the truck dies, then slowly starts to pick back up in a lower gear. But once it starts picking up it runs strong. It almost seems to me to be an issue when the truck down shifts. Is there something in the programming that stunts the engine while the transmission downshifts? could my transmission be down shifting too slow and causing this stunt to prolong into a full blown momentary stall? Of course it could be that when it down shifts its a faster rpm gain and the engine could just be rejecting the gain for some reason I can not comprehend.

Very interesting! I am not sure my truck has that engine cut off thing, I just power braked it at a red light the other day trying to see if I could get it to reproduce the problem at a slow speed. But I will definitely keep the break light switch in mind. Thanks

Could be a faulty pedal position sensor. Should be able to test that with a multi-meter, if its a variable resistor.
