I noticed when driving my 08 yesterday that there was faint knocking (no other way to describe it) sound from I believe the front driver’s side area. It’s not loud at all and at times was a slight squeak, too. This morning when I took it out there wasn’t a sound backing out, however after I put it into drive and went about 100 yards to the stop sound there was a loud pop (sounded like drivers side again) when first applied the brakes.

I drove it around the neighborhood loop back to the house and noticed the original popping/knocking sound again. Didn’t get over 20 mph. Brakes worked fine with no other loud pop.

    Any ideas?

Ball joints would be my guess, but there is 100% no way for us to know. Words describing sounds over the internet are notoriously unreliable. Jack it up and start diagnosing each part to see which one ain't right.
