I'm in Texas, just a bit south of Keason1.

Visited a dealer this week in Ft Worth and drove a DC '10 Tacoma SR5. Nice rig!

Salesman told me that there were no incentives for the Tacoma right now, but he'd like to sell me one before the end of the year. Said his manager would "knock some off the price", which I figure might be $2000 or so off sticker price.

He did offer me $6000 trade in for my '02 PreRunner with 150k miles, which I felt was OK.

I'm not in any hurry to buy, and right now am studying the specs and options before I decide what I want. LOTS of changes from my '95 SR5 4x4!

The best deal I was able to find was at Carmax. I priced the exact truck at the stealership vs. a truck one year old and with 10K miles on it....the difference was around $10,000. Needless to say I went with the used truck (the one I have now). I love it and it is brand new to me. I plan on driving it until it goes back to Toyo heaven.

I, too, was not in a hurry. My truck was in Nashville, TN. I was at a carmax in Plano, TX. The truck was here in 21 days and I was extremely happy to not have done business with the dealership.

I will never buy a vehicle from a dealership unless I hear some compelling evidence guiding me otherwise.

Carmax doesn't give good deals...their no haggle price is a joke and you can get a better price from a dealer. Will require some work but it can be done.

The first offer a dealer gave me on an '08 DC TRD Sport 4x4 was $32,500. I laughed at them and told them they were out of their mind.

I got my truck from Carmax for a little over $23,000.

I think the OTD final price was $23,900. I would have to go home to look up the receipt. I just remember being content with it being under $24K.
