Hello, I just opened an account because I am on the hunt for a 2nd gen tacoma for a work truck. However I have seen a lot of ridiculously priced Tacomas on Craigslist, OfferUp, AutoTrader, Facebook Marketplace. Some examples I've seen are a 2008 Tacoma with about 200K and asking $13K. Or a 2010 with slightly over 300K and asking $10K. Again these are the most extremely priced I've seen so far. I have seen other decently priced Tacomas but a lot of them are over 150K and made me question what would be a fair price for a 2nd gen Tacoma with between 100K-150K? I know I can go to KBB and get a general answer but I want to know from the enthusiasts. And to be specific, a 2nd gen with the 4 cylinder. Thank you for your time.

#1 rule in car buying: cash talks. Prices are high for these trucks right now so if you can get good, low-interest, private financing first if you need it and then go locate and negotiate, you will save some. I saved almost $6K by paying cash. Not all deals will be that good but you will save some, generally speaking.

I recently bought a 2013 5 lug ACab auto for 18900. 46k miles. Issue is they are hard to find. A different local dealer had a 2001 base access cab 2wd with auto trans (2.4L motor) and they were asking 13995. I think it did finally sell but that truck was kinda beat up and 20 years old. Of course dealer knew they had something special with a 1st gen. Good luck on your search like others said I would try and wait but prices may not come down.

I feel your pain. I was looking for a 2nd gen Taco for over a year. I ended up having to expand my search area and found one...but had to drive 3.5 hours away to get it. It's a really tough market right now. I agree with @lynlan1819 above...best to wait and see if prices return to a more reasonable level. If they go up more...this county is in real trouble.

This is such a sellers market for used trucks right now, I'd just wait it out.

Lol it was a case of needed some tlc and he’d rather sell it low rather than fix a few things and clean it up.

I have a 2013 Tacoma SR5 Access Cab 4 cylinder AT with about 55K miles in excellent condition that I am considering selling since I hardly use it anymore.
Have been curious as to a reasonable asking price for this vehicle. Any thoughts?

No such thing as fair pricing. All of us when we sell ask the absolute highest price we think/hope we can get. Buyers offer the lowest price they think they can get. Many things affect the cost of vehicles. Right now is a sellers market, bad time to be buying new or used vehicle.

My best friend sold his 16 AC 4x4 SR 4 banger in 10 minutes on FB marketplace. KBB out the window.
Our trucks were great resale prior to low inventory now it is insane.

It is nuts these days. Not sure what’s going on but I don’t like this trend. In 1999 I paid 3500 for an 88 4Runner ( 22re motor with 5 speed, not rusted out) with 150k miles. Those days are over
